Easy Health Info Session for Wandsworth GP Federation Surgeries
Easy Health Information Sessions took place on Tuesday 25th February and Thursday 27th February 2025, as we provided information on our services, resources, advice/consultancy, easy read translation and our learning disability awareness training presentations.
These sessions were commissioned by the Wandsworth GP Federation (formerly the BHCIC) and every Wandsworth GP Federation surgery was invited to nominate at least one member of staff to attend.
Each session lasted 1 hour, online, focusing on easy health’s activities, services and resources. We also highlighted the work we do in fighting health inequalities and how our services and resources can be accessed and utilized.
Our Winter Workshop
On Thursday 19th December 2024, 5.30pm - 7.00pm, EasyHealth organized the "Stay Healthy This Winter Event" on behalf of Generate Opportunities.
During the event adults with a lived experience of learning disabilities and or autism took part in interactive accessible learning activities which encouraged them to think about ways of keeping healthy during the winter.
The NHS SWL Immunisation Roving Team, also, attended the event to provide information common winter illnesses and the services that they provide.
Overall, the workshop was a success, with good attendee engagement and some really useful suggestions. The event also provided attendees with invaluable information on how they can access NHS services during the colder months.
G,O.L.D Conference - ‘Ways to Live Well: Enabling people to live happy, healthy lives'
The British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) annual Growing Older with Learning Disabilities (GOLD) virtual conference is taking place on 12th March 2025.
EasyHealth has been invited to be one of the keynote speakers and we'll be discussing how our online library of accessible health information can support people with a lived experience to better understand and manage their health.
The audience for this conference will be NHS staff, learning disability professionals, general health and social care staff.
Our easy read presentation shall be co-delivered by one of our consultants with a lived experience, with the focus being: who we are, what we do, the services we provide and who it benefits.
GREAT NEWS!
Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust previously invited us last June 2024 to their BHRUT Learning Disability Transition Conference and we received great feedback from the organizers and attendees.
As a result, we have now been invited back for Learning Disability Week between 16-20 June 2025 to speak about EasyHealth services and resources, along with the work we do tackling health inequalities.
We Keep on Fighting Health Inequalities!
We continue to collaborate with colleagues with a lived experience of learning disability and or neurodiversity to offer a number of services.
